In his new role, Hranac will focus on scaling Lithos Carbon's operations as the company expands its enhanced rock weathering deployments across farmland nationwide in the United States. He will spearhead the development of the industry's leading technology platform for carbon capture measurement and optimization.

"Rob's unique combination of deep tech expertise and hands-on agricultural experience makes him the ideal leader to scale our operations," said Mary Yap, CEO of Lithos Carbon. "His track record of building complex operational systems and delivering innovative solutions to farmers will be invaluable as we accelerate our mission to capture gigatons of carbon while improving soil health and crop yields."

"I joined Lithos because they are the clear leader in enhanced rock weathering sales, delivery, and quality," said Hranac. "The company's rigorous scientific approach, combined with their commitment to farmers and proven carbon capture results, positions them uniquely to scale this critical climate solution. I'm excited to help build the operational excellence and technology platform needed to deploy enhanced rock weathering at the gigaton scale."

Previously, Hranac served as Chief Technology Officer at EarthOptics, where he helped build the largest technology platform for measuring soil organic carbon in the US, and as Chief Operating Officer at Swift Navigation, where he helped scale up centimeter-accurate GPS technology for autonomous vehicles. His background includes extensive experience in analytics and automation technologies. Hranac holds an MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UC Berkeley and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University.

Lithos Carbon partners with farmers to apply crushed basalt rock dust to agricultural fields, where it naturally captures carbon dioxide from the atmosphere while providing essential nutrients to crops. The company's proprietary machine learning algorithms optimize application strategies for both carbon capture and crop yields, backed by research from Yale University and Georgia Institute of Technology.
