“Kentucky American Water, together with the American Water Charitable Foundation, is proud to support families and communities impacted by the recent floods,” said Robert Burton, president, Kentucky American Water. “Access to safe, clean drinking water is critical in our daily lives and in times of emergencies. We hope this contribution can provide some assistance and relief to the residents of these impacted communities."

Funding is in addition to a $10,000 grant provided to the American Red Cross earlier this year to support Kentucky communities impacted by flash floods. The Foundation’s Disaster Relief Grant Program is designed to increase the impact of American Water employee donations made in response to natural disasters such as floods, hurricanes, fires and other extraordinary disaster events.

Additionally, the American Water Charitable Foundation is also a member of the Red Cross Disaster Responder Program, which proactively funds disaster relief and helps ensure the organization is better prepared to meet the needs of those affected by disasters, both big and small, across the U.S.

“In addition to the American Red Cross Disaster Responder Program, the American Water Charitable Foundation proudly supports local chapters throughout American Water’s national footprint,” said Carrie Williams, president, American Water Charitable Foundation. “We are pleased to join others who have offered their time and resources to support those affected by the storms and floods in Kentucky. We extend our sincere appreciation to the American Red Cross who help charitable dollars get to where they are needed most.”
