Zevia ‘Gets the Fake Outta Here’ in New Campaign Starring Country Music Superstar Jelly Roll

The better-for-you soda brand’s latest breakthrough spot distinctively celebrating realness is another playful wink at the category following their holiday campaign in December

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Zevia, the zero-sugar, naturally sweetened soda brand, is celebrating unsugarcoated realness in its latest campaign starring Grammy-nominated artist Jelly Roll. Created by Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, the ad debuted during last night’s premiere episode of American Idol.

In the new ad, Jelly Roll pulls up to a gas station in a red pickup truck with Linda Lyndell’s “What a Man” setting the tone. As two young onlookers stare in awe, it’s not just Jelly Roll’s presence that holds their attention - it’s the way he takes a slow, unapologetic swig of an ice-cold Zevia Creamy Root Beer. The moment playfully winks at iconic soda ads of the past, but with a twist: this time, the star isn’t selling anything artificial. With a knowing smirk, Jelly Roll raises a can to keeping it real, with real soda that has real ingredients.

“Zevia is the real deal. Nothing artificial and still tastes amazing. Unlikely? Yes. But true? Absolutely. As real as it gets,” said Jelly Roll.

"Our strategy is to make the Zevia brand as anti-artificial as our products, and stand out by entertaining people while cutting through culture and the clutter of the category,” said Kirsten Suarez, Chief Marketing Officer of Zevia. “Jelly Roll was the perfect partner for this idea because not only is he a charming superstar with broad appeal, he is also so genuinely real, and open about his own personal health journey.”

Zevia has always been about keeping it real. In their December Break from Artificial holiday campaign, Zevia used a lighthearted parody of Coca-Cola’s AI-driven ad to showcase the absurdity of artificial products. With exaggerated AI scenes, the campaign highlighted how artificial ingredients don’t measure up, offering Zevia as a real alternative with zero sugar and no artificial sweeteners. You can see the commercial HERE.

Launched in 2007 as an alternative soft drink to traditional brands for those looking to avoid both sugars and artificial ingredients, Zevia has been guided by its mission to address global health challenges. Zevia has also focused on accessibility and is a significantly more affordable better-for-you soda brand versus premium priced competitors.

Zevia’s soda portfolio includes 16 naturally delicious zero sugar sodas, including top-selling flavors such as Cola, Creamy Root Beer, Vanilla Cola, Black Cherry, Ginger Ale, and new Strawberry Lemon Burst. All Zevia® beverages have zero artificial colors, zero artificial flavors, zero artificial sweeteners, and are naturally sweetened with plant-based ingredients that are Non-GMO Project verified.
