The Futurum Group Announces Dan O’Brien as President and Chief Operating Officer

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Futurum Group, a leading technology research, media and advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Dan O’Brien as President and COO of Futurum and its various business units. O’Brien brings extensive experience and a proven track record in innovation and leadership. In his most recent role, Dan served as Vice President of Analyst Relations, leading one of the top-rated AR teams in the world across markets including enterprise software, professional services, and infrastructure.

As President and COO Dan will oversee the company’s strategic approach to sales, marketing, research and business operations across Futurum. Following the company’s significant growth in 2024, areas of focus will include the various enterprise portfolios of solutions in performance lab & testing (Signal65), lead generation and media (Techstrong, Tech Field Day, Six-Five Media), and the newest Product & Platform offerings for intelligence and data, a highly in-demand space among clients.

About Dan O’Brien

Dan most recently served as IBM’s Vice President of Analyst Relations, leading one of the largest AR teams in the world across software, services, and infrastructure markets. Prior to IBM, Dan led the creation of GfK’s semiconductor research and advisory practice, where he led the company’s equity and industry analyst teams, and formed strategic partnerships with teardown labs to grow and expand the business. Prior to that, he spent nearly a decade in the semiconductor capital equipment market at Teradyne, in roles across marketing, finance, product, and investor relations. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, with a minor in Economics, from Providence College.
