Optima Specialty Steel, Inc. Names Ron Witzig General Manager of Kentucky Electric Steel

MIAMI--()--OPTIMA SPECIALTY STEEL INC. (the “Company”), one of North America’s leading independent producers of specialty steel products, today announced the appointment of Ron Witzig as General Manager of Kentucky Electric Steel (“KES”). KES is a value-added producer of SBQ and MBQ products serving a diversified customer base across attractive end markets including transportation, industrial equipment, yellow goods, agriculture, and construction.

Michael Salamon, the Company’s President and Chief Operating Officer, stated that, “Ron Witzig’s selection to lead KES was based upon his extensive industry experience and proven track record of reducing costs, implementing manufacturing process improvements, and achieving operational excellence. Ron Witzig has a wide-range of experience in areas such as engineering, maintenance, steel making, and hot rolling in long products and plate. He has served in various management roles including Operations Manager, Superintendent, General Manager, Plant Manager, and Vice President. He holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Illinois State and a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Illinois Central.
