Kano’s Latest Learn to Code Kit is Now Available

The Pixel Kit is a $79.99 DIY light board that teaches beginners how to code

LONDON--()--London-based Kano Computing recently launched its latest kit, the Pixel Kit, a DIY computer with 128 programmable LEDs anyone can make and code to bring art, games, and data to life. It connects to any PC, Mac or Kano Computer Kit and teaches the basics of coding with simple steps and a guided approach.

The Pixel Kit is currently available on Kano.me at an RRP of $79.99 and will arrive at selected retailers and e-tailers later in the year.

It comes with over 40 creative projects, suitable for beginners of all ages, with the goal of demystifying key programming concepts by making them physical. First, users build the Pixel Kit as illustrated by the storybook that is included and assemble the pieces like Lego. They can then can draw and animate their own characters, visualize the weather, build games, create a custom news ticker, and paint with light in 16 million colors.

The Pixel Kit was brought to life through Kickstarter in September 2016 and represents the company’s next steps to build an end-to-end, creative computing system.
