Manufacturing Equipment Intact, No Structural Damage at Riverdale Mills Corporation

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass.--()--All major manufacturing equipment remains undamaged, the structure of Riverdale Mills Corporation ( is intact and no injuries to personnel occurred after a four-alarm fire broke out this morning at the manufacturing facility. The fire is still under investigation but it is believed to have started in a dust collection system and its complimentary duct system in the west side of the building.

“The success of Riverdale Mills begins and ends with our 200 dedicated employees,” said Riverdale CEO James Knott, Jr. “We are grateful for the safety of all of the workers who were onsite, we are working to restore all systems and we will restart production as soon as humanly possible.”

Northbridge fire department was first on the scene and coordinated the emergency efforts. “Mill fires can be very tough to fight but we were able to contain the fire to the office area, which was the area of origin,” said Northbridge Fire Chief David White. “Other than water damage and other cosmetic damage, the mill is structurally sound and should be up and running shortly.”
