Finally Light Bulb Company Announces Michael Simon as New Chief Executive Officer

BOSTON--()--The Finally Light Bulb Company (, a Boston-based light bulb innovator, today announced that Michael Simon has been appointed the company’s next Chief Executive Officer. John Goscha, founder of the Finally Light Bulb Company and current CEO, will become Chairman of the Board of Directors.

"I am delighted to welcome Michael to the team," said Goscha. "For the past several years I have been consumed by one goal – to develop the right light at an affordable price. Even in the face of tremendous competition from the government-subsidized lighting giants, I’ve always believed it was possible for a light bulb to be energy efficient without sacrificing light quality. We have worked tirelessly over the past several years," Goscha continued, "and we have successfully developed a light bulb applying Nikola Tesla’s induction technology that delivers energy efficiency and light quality. The next phase of our strategic road map now begins. In order to take our differentiated product offering to scale, we have enlisted Michael to join our leadership team."

Simon brings leadership experience across multiple industries, each at different stages of maturity. Over the past two decades, he has held senior leadership positions in marketing and general management helping to lead the growth of major consumer brands including Panera Bread, Pepperidge Farm and Godiva Chocolatier. Most recently, Simon served as Chief Marketing Officer at Bai Brands, a maker of healthy beverages, acquired in February by the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group for $1.7 billion. His vast experience in growing small to mid-sized companies is perfectly suited to help expand the Finally Light Bulb business.

Michael’s CPG experience will help ensure that our light bulbs are reaching new customers as effectively as possible,” said Gosha. “With Michael leading the company’s day-to-day operations, I can now focus on future innovation and building new products.”

Being able to partner with a pioneering entrepreneur like John is a rare opportunity,” said Simon. “John and his team are disrupting a mature and increasingly commoditized lighting industry, applying innovative technology to better serve consumers’ needs. Light is a fundamental and inexorable part of everyday life, yet LED technology was largely accepted as the successor to incandescent despite inferior light quality. No one should have to choose between light quality and energy efficiency. Applying Tesla Technology, John and his team have created a light bulb that eliminates the need to sacrifice one for the other.”

I am personally thrilled to partner with John and the Finally Light Bulb team to accelerate our distribution across the US and introduce consumers to this exciting new light bulb technology,” continued Simon. “Together, we are maniacally focused to deliver on Finally’s mission to offer consumers energy efficient and long-lasting light without compromising quality."
