Wells Fargo Donates $25,000 to Help Victims of San Jose Flood

Wells Fargo’s California ATMs will accept donations for flood relief efforts; customers may also redeem Go FarTM Rewards to contribute

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--In response to devastating flooding in San Jose, Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE:WFC) today announced a multifaceted approach to helping those in need, including a $25,000 donation to Silicon Valley Community Foundation’s San Jose Flood Victims Relief Fund.

The funds will support nonprofit organizations – like American Red Cross, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, Sacred Heart Community Services, and The Salvation Army – that are providing relief and recovery assistance following the breach of Coyote Creek. As a result of flooding and pending storms in the days ahead, it is reported that approximately 14, 000 households have been ordered to evacuate.

Our thoughts are with residents who had to leave their homes and their personal belongings behind, and those who face uncertainty in the days ahead,” said Jeff Rademann, President of Wells Fargo’s Santa Clara Valley Region. “Through the chaos of the last few days, our community has shown its true colors, as individuals and businesses have pitched in to help those affected by the floods. I am honored to be part of this amazing community, to be able to help our fellow neighbors with this donation, and to support nonprofits helping rebuild and strengthen our community at a time when we need them the most.”

Silicon Valley Community Foundation is grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support for the San Jose Flood Victims Relief Fund. These donations will make a real difference to people who are suffering because of the recent flooding,” said Emmett Carson, CEO and president of Silicon Valley Community Foundation. “The contributions will be used to support a variety of local charities that are already assisting people affected by the flood – and others that will continue to support them as they recover.”

In addition to its corporate contribution, Wells Fargo customers may donate to the American Red Cross’ flood relief efforts at Wells Fargo ATMs throughout California, now through March 9. Customers will not be charged a fee for using this service, and 100-percent of the donations will be sent to the American Red Cross.

Wells Fargo’s Go FarTM Rewards customers can redeem any amount of their available rewards and donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief from February 27th through March 5th, by accessing their rewards account at GoFarRewards.wf.com or calling the Go FarTM Rewards Service Center at 1-877-517-1358.
