Wescom Credit Union Makes the Holiday Season Merry and Bright by Surprising Southern California Holiday Shoppers with Free Christmas Trees

Trees will be given away at 14 tree lots throughout Southern California

LOS ANGELES--()--Grab your tinsel and ornaments! Beginning when the lots open on Saturday, December 3, 2016, Wescom Credit Union will be surprising holiday shoppers by picking up the tab when they go to buy their Christmas tree this season.

“A little bit of kindness goes a long way, so we’re excited to be giving away trees again this year as part of our #WescomKindness program”

As a way of showing the community #WescomKindness and spreading holiday cheer, Wescom will pay for shoppers’ tree selections (up to $100 in value per customer) at 14 Christmas tree lots throughout the Southland. Each of the pop-up lots will give away $2,000 worth of Christmas trees to unsuspecting customers, compliments of Wescom. Wescom’s mobile banking branch, Big Blue, will also make an appearance at one of the lots, and @Liz_Wescom will be tweeting the location the morning of the surprise appearance. Shoppers who take a picture with Big Blue and tag it #WescomBigBlue automatically enter to win a $25 Wescom Visa® gift card between now and December 31, 2016.

“A little bit of kindness goes a long way, so we’re excited to be giving away trees again this year as part of our #WescomKindness program,” said Deena Otto, Wescom Credit Union Senior VP Administration. “We know the holidays can be a stressful time budget-wise for many, and we can’t wait to surprise people and help make their season brighter. This is just one of the many ways that Wescom helps to improve the communities we serve.”

Between December 3-25th, Wescom branch managers will make additional surprise appearances at local Christmas tree lots to pick up the tab for unsuspecting customers.

Earlier this year, Wescom displayed its marquee #WescomKindness with its second annual Wake Up with Wescom daylight saving time event, surprising thousands of customers at 19 different The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® locations throughout Southern California by paying their coffee and breakfast tabs.
