Network to Air Select 2016-17 English Football League Cup Matches that Includes Teams Such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Among Others

MIAMI--()--beIN SPORTS, the fastest growing cable network in the U.S., has announced the return of English soccer to its weekday programming lineup. Coverage of the 2016-2017 edition of the EFL Cup, formerly known as the Capital One Cup, continues on beIN SPORTS on October 25th and 26th.

Headlining the action is the Manchester Derby, where Manchester United will host cross-city rival and current EFL Cup Champion, Manchester City, at Old Trafford on Wednesday, October 26th. On Tuesday, October 25th, some of the most renowned teams in English football including Arsenal will welcome Reading at the Emirates Stadium, and eight-time winners, Liverpool, will face Tottenham Hotspur.

The special coverage starts with “The Express” Preview show at 2pm ET hosted by Kay Murray and featuring reports from journalists on site. Ray Hudson, Gary Bailey and Christian Vieri will offer expert analysis. A special edition of the soccer discussion show, “The Locker Room,” will follow the match.

The EFL Cup is comprised of 92 teams featuring teams from the Premier League as well as the three divisions of the English Football League (Sky Bet Championship, League One and League Two). The tournament, founded in 1960, is divided into seven rounds with the exciting final match held exclusively at Wembley Stadium in London. The current champions, Manchester City, won their fourth Cup title in 2016, when the team beat Liverpool, who holds eight Cup titles, the most in history.

beIN SPORTS’ midweek soccer line-up will also feature Round of 32 of the Copa del Rey as Champions League holders and historical powerhouse, Real Madrid, visits third division, Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa, in a real life David vs. Goliath clash.
