More than 65,000 People Visit McDonald’s Kitchens Across Latin America and the Caribbean in One Day as Part of Arcos Dorados’ Popular Open Doors Program

Participants Offered Behind the Scenes Look at Ingredients, Processes, and Hygiene Standards Used in the Preparation of McDonald’s Iconic Burgers

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay--()--As part of Global Transparency Week, Arcos Dorados, the world’s largest McDonald’s franchisee operating in 20 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, celebrated International Open Doors Day, where, in a single day, more than 65,000 customers got a behind the scenes look at its McDonald’s kitchens. Over 2 million guests have now been welcomed into McDonald’s kitchens in 2016 as part of this program.

The Open Doors program allows our customers to visit our kitchens and learn about the quality of our ingredients, as well as the hygiene and safety standards that we follow in each step of our food preparation,” said Sergio Alonso, CEO of Arcos Dorados.

The Company’s Open Doors program seeks to highlight the quality of the ingredients used as well as the strength of the hygiene and cleanliness processes followed in the operation of its restaurants and in the preparation of its food. The first International Open Doors Day was held across Arcos Dorados’ Latin American and Caribbean markets on September 27, 2016.
