Proskauer Launches International Private Client Services Group

The Private Client Services Department expands to Washington, D.C. to meet client needs

WASHINGTON--()--International law firm Proskauer announced today the launch of its International Private Client Services Group to be led by partner Scott Bowman. He will be based in the Firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

“Washington, D.C. will be the ‘hub’ for our international practice. This enables us to support the growing needs of clients based in the metro D.C. area and across the country, as well as our internationally based clients”

The group, which is an extension of Proskauer’s Private Client Services Department, will focus in particular on sophisticated tax and estate planning for high-net-worth multinational families in relation to both inbound and outbound planning.

“Our Private Client Services clients have become increasingly international and their tax and estate planning needs have become more complicated than ever. This dedicated group will build on our century-old trusts and estates practice and considerable experience in international tax law – a highly complex area of law where few firms can match the depth of our experience,” said David Pratt, head of Proskauer’s Private Client Services Department. “In addition, Washington, D.C. and the surrounding areas have an abundance of high-net-worth families. We look forward to working with many of them on their estate plans, which require the sophisticated planning experience that we have.”

“Washington, D.C. will be the ‘hub’ for our international practice. This enables us to support the growing needs of clients based in the metro D.C. area and across the country, as well as our internationally based clients,” said Scott Bowman.

Proskauer has a long tradition of advising families with personal or financial interests throughout the United States and across the globe. The International Private Client Services Group will focus on inbound work for non-U.S. families looking to invest in the United States, relocate their families to the United States or pass wealth to U.S. beneficiaries, and on outbound work for U.S. families living, working and investing abroad. In addition, the Firm will continue to represent financial institutions and corporate fiduciaries regarding the complex tax and compliance obligations related to servicing multinational families.
