Berger Singerman Adds Former United States Attorney Pamela Cothran Marsh as Partner

Marsh further deepens the firm’s expertise in white collar criminal defense and internal government investigations

MIAMI--()--Berger Singerman, Florida’s business law firm, is pleased to announce that Pamela Cothran Marsh, the former United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida, has joined the firm as partner on the Dispute Resolution and Government & Regulatory Teams. Marsh will serve clients across the state, and she will work principally out of Berger Singerman’s Tallahassee and Miami offices.

“After carefully evaluating opportunities throughout the U.S., I was drawn to Berger Singerman for its leadership, collaborative culture and extensive talent, especially in relation to sensitive legal matters pertaining to my areas of practice”

As U.S. Attorney, Marsh earned a distinguished reputation for investigating and prosecuting cases relating to banking, securities, healthcare fraud, public corruption, cybersecurity, international and domestic terrorism, and human trafficking. She was the first woman to serve as a U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.

“After carefully evaluating opportunities throughout the U.S., I was drawn to Berger Singerman for its leadership, collaborative culture and extensive talent, especially in relation to sensitive legal matters pertaining to my areas of practice,” said Marsh. “Joining this Florida powerhouse firm enables me to strategically build my practice with phenomenal firm support, while enhancing and broadening the service I can offer my clients and the firm’s existing clients.”

Berger Singerman has earned a reputation for taking on high-profile cases that are typically reserved for firms with a national presence, as well as being a highly-regarded and safe choice for appointments from the courts and state and federal regulatory agencies as fiduciaries, receivers, trustees, and examiners, and counsel to others serving in those capacities.

“Pam is an extraordinary talent. She has had a truly amazing career. Her decision to join our firm is a testament to Berger Singerman’s collaborative culture and the depth of the talent of our team members,” said Paul Steven Singerman, co-chair of Berger Singerman. “Her impressive background and experience will enhance the firm's reputation as a leading choice for internal investigation counsel, white collar defense, as well as our service as counsel in high level fiduciary appointments, receiverships, and other proceedings. Our entire team is thrilled to welcome Pam to the firm.”

With more than 20 years of legal experience, Marsh was nominated by President Barack Obama in 2010 to serve as U.S. Attorney, and was then confirmed by the U.S. Senate. She served as the leading federal prosecutor for Florida’s 23 panhandle counties, from Alachua to Escambia, overseeing offices in Gainesville, Tallahassee, Panama City, and Pensacola. She was selected as one of only 16 U.S. Attorneys to serve on the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee, during which time she chaired the Stolen Identity Refund Fraud Working Group. She also served on the Subcommittee on Counter-Terrorism and National Security, as well as the White Collar Criminal Subcommittee. Additionally, she established and led the Big Bend Coalition against Human Trafficking. Prior to becoming U.S. Attorney, Marsh served as Of Counsel at Akerman Senterfitt, where she focused on appellate legislation, corporate integrity and white collar defense.

Marsh earned her J.D., cum laude, and B.S., magna cum laude, from Georgetown University. She is admitted to The Florida Bar, the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit, and the District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida.
