Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization Announces Global Experts to Present at the 2016 Conference

Nearly 40 Speakers from Across the Globe Join Together to Raise Asbestos Awareness and Prevention

LOS ANGELES--()--The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), which combines education, advocacy, and community to help ensure justice for asbestos victims, today announced the speakers scheduled to present at the upcoming 12th Annual Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference, “Where Knowledge and Action Unite”, April 8 – 10, 2016 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Washington, DC.

ADAO is the only U.S. nonprofit that organizes annual conferences dedicated to preventing and eliminating asbestos-caused diseases.

“Since 2005, ADAO conferences have recognized nearly 400 internationally renowned honorees, keynote speakers, and presenters whose voices and actions have been critically important to ending the man-made asbestos disaster,” stated ADAO Co-Founder and President Linda Reinstein. “As in the past, many on this year’s nearly 40 speakers also include courageous patients helping build a global community of support and hope.”

Exposure to asbestos, a human carcinogen, can cause mesothelioma, lung, gastrointestinal, laryngeal, and ovarian cancers; as well as non-malignant lung and pleural disorders. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 107,000 workers around the world will die every year of an asbestos-related disease, equaling 300 deaths per day.
