Science Fair to Highlight National School Choice Week Celebration

EL PASO, Texas--()--The community is invited to a public viewing of the Science Fair displays of Harmony School of Innovation students on January 30. Students will perform rigorous science experiments, and community dignitaries and science professionals will judge the projects. The event is open to the public and runs from 11 am to 1 pm. Awards will be given out starting at 1 pm.

The Science Fair event is planned to coincide with National School Choice Week 2016, the nation’s largest-ever celebration of excellent options in education.

More than 900 students and parents are expected to attend the event to show solidarity surrounding STEM learning and the school choice options provided by the school.

“Harmony School of Innovation’s learning community is driven by the rigor and excellence education involves. Reaching to obtain a high role in STEM and Robotics education takes day-to-day learning and commitment to achieve the standards for success,” said Lorena Chavira, DTC/CTC and Federal Program Coordinator.

“We are a School of Choice because we generate a difference in our community.”

Harmony School of Innovation is a public charter school serving grades Kindergarten–12 with a student enrollment of 900.

National School Choice Week (January 24–30, 2016) will be America’s largest-ever celebration of opportunity in education. Featuring more than 16,000 independently organized events across all 50 states, the week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for children. National School Choice Week is independent, nonpolitical, and nonpartisan, and embraces all types of educational choice–from traditional public schools to public charter schools, magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
