BlackMesh’s Red Hat-based PaaS Cloud Offering Achieves FedRAMP Certification

ASHBURN, Va.--()--BlackMesh, a leader in cloud-based solutions, continues to provide innovative solutions to the government cloud market by officially achieving Federal Risk Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) certification for its SecureCloud PaaS offering built with OpenShift by Red Hat. BlackMesh’s SecureCloud platform meets the strict requirements of federal government agencies using cloud computing and provides the highest level of security to vital government information. This marks BlackMesh’s first FedRAMP certification for a Red Hat offering.

“Achieving FedRAMP certification for SecureCloud is a significant step for the government’s Cloud First policy”

As a Red Hat Certified Cloud and Service Provider, BlackMesh has developed a private cloud solution that meets federal security control requirements.

“Achieving FedRAMP certification for SecureCloud is a significant step for the government’s Cloud First policy,” said BlackMesh CEO Eric Mandel. “By working with Red Hat to leverage OpenShift capabilities such as accelerated application delivery and streamlined workflows, BlackMesh can dispense more agile cloud platform services to federal customers that include industry-leading protection and responsiveness to security threats.”

Headquartered in Northern Virginia, BlackMesh’s open source deployment helps federal agencies thrive within the advancing and evolving world of cloud computing, bringing Red Hat’s cloud solutions to public sector customers. With over a decade of experience in building and managing private clouds, BlackMesh is one of only 32 FedRAMP authorized cloud service providers.

BlackMesh, a certified Red Hat cloud provider, achieved FedRAMP authority to operate in April 2015. The service provider also hosts platforms that require Payment Card Industry (PCI), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagement No.16 (SSAE 16), and Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Impact Level 2 compliance standards. BlackMesh is working to achieve FedRAMP Revision 4 compliance in early 2016.
