The National Law Journal names Marc Kasowitz and Hector Torres Litigation Trailblazers and Daniel Fetterman a White Collar Trailblazer

NEW YORK--()--The National Law Journal has named Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman partners Marc Kasowitz and Hector Torres “Litigation Trailblazers” and partner Daniel Fetterman a “White Collar Trailblazer.” The “Trailblazers” series honors individuals who have advanced their legal practice areas through the use of innovative strategies. The “Litigation” and “White Collar” lists announced this month each celebrated just 50 lawyers from throughout the country for exemplary achievements.

Marc Kasowitz launched Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman in 1993 and rapidly created one of the nation’s most successful and respected litigation law firms. His impact on the national litigation landscape has been so significant because it comes on two fronts – as the founder and leader of Kasowitz Benson and as a litigator handling and winning some of the nation’s biggest business disputes. Described by CNBC as the "toughest lawyer on Wall Street," he is widely regarded as one of the preeminent trial lawyers in the country.

Name and co-founding partner Hector Torres is one of the nation’s top lawyers for the prosecution of antitrust and other complex commercial cases. In pursuing antitrust and competition claims against global cartels over the past two decades, Torres has combined aggressive litigation with a flexible ADR strategy including mediation, negotiation and international arbitration to obtain optimal recoveries and outcomes for companies victimized by anti-competitive conduct of global cartels, which helps avoid expensive and protracted litigation. Among his many prominent representations, he serves as lead global outside counsel for Ford Motor Company in connection with Ford's claims against suppliers that have been the subjects of the largest antitrust investigation in the history of the Department of Justice and the European Commission involving more than 100 auto parts and more than 70 suppliers throughout North America, Europe and Asia.

Dan Fetterman has successfully represented clients in some of the country’s most interesting and challenging white collar matters. He is a former federal prosecutor who regularly represents corporations and individuals in complex litigation, government investigations, regulatory proceedings, and internal investigations involving, among other things, commercial disputes, accounting malfeasance, theft of trade secrets, securities fraud, insider trading, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Drawing on more than 20 years of experience, he co-authors and co-edits a highly-acclaimed white collar treatise, Defending Corporations and Individuals in Government Investigations, published by Thomson Reuters.
