About the Lawsuit

AAC and certain of its executives are charged with failing to disclose material information during the Class Period, violating federal securities laws.

On July 29, 2015, an indictment returned by a grand jury related to an investigation by the California Department of Justice into to the death of a patient in 2010 at an AAC subsidiary was unsealed. The indictment brings charges against subsidiaries of AAC and two current and three former employees.

Then, on August 4, 2015, AAC disclosed that its former president was one of the individuals indicted. Also on August 4, 2015, an article by Bleecker Street Research claimed that AAC had reason to know in 2013 about the criminal investigation that led to the indictment, but AAC failed to disclose it.

On this news, the price of AAC’s shares plummeted.
