Europe’s Leading Peer-to-Peer Music Festival Ticket Sales Platform The Physical Network Launches in North America

Firm hires 12 full time staffers for new LA office to service their 40 US festival clients

LOS ANGELES--()--The Physical Network, the #1 peer-to-peer marketer of music festival tickets in Europe announces the opening of its North American headquarters in Hollywood, CA.

“As consistently proven, people do not listen to ads, they listen to their friends. We’ve used that very important premise and built a scalable marketing platform for the events industry.”

The company’s platform uses state of the art technology that enables festivals to sell tickets through brand ambassadors via a 21st century update of the original and oldest form of marketing: word of mouth.

The Physical Network recruits loyal fan ambassadors to help festivals sell tickets and market their events. Ambassadors are rewarded with exclusive access and privileges at the festival in exchange for getting friends in their social circles to purchase tickets.

The model has been proven with more than 60 client success stories across Europe. Last year for the widely respected Bestival UK, The Physical Network recruited a team of 3,000 ambassadors who sold over 12,000 tickets to the event. This generated nearly $5 million in ticket sales and more than 200,000 social media conversations in the process (see http://2014.bestival.net/info/the-physical-network). More recently, they have already had multiple client success stories in the USA including selling 2,500 tickets for the Spring Awakening festival within seven weeks. Other US festival clients include Mysteryland, Electric Zoo, North Coast, and Aftershock, among others.

According to The Physical Network Co-Founder Liam Negus-Fancey, “As consistently proven, people do not listen to ads, they listen to their friends. We’ve used that very important premise and built a scalable marketing platform for the events industry.” Negus-Fancey witnessed first hand the power of peer-to-peer networking five years ago when promoting underage rave events in London. While regularly selling more than 8,000 tickets every six weeks, he saw that 95 per cent of their ticket sales came from students who sold them to their student peers.

Following its North American launch, The Physical Network is planning to launch in Australasia by the end of 2015.
