eSurface® Technologies Signs Agreement with Industrial Design Firm to Alter the Wearable Tech Landscape

eSurface Licenses IP Technology to Designfunhouse in Development of New Breed of Wearable Technology

CARLSBAD, Calif.--()--eSurface® Technologies (DBA of EarthOne Circuit Technologies Corporation, a privately-held corporation), the creator and licensor of the eSurface proprietary patented technology for applied conductive materials, today announced the licensing of its technology to industrial design firm Designfunhouse in the development of the eSurface “Angel,” a new generation of wearable technology; the agreement is effective immediately.

“We have been engaged in the development of wearable technology that can deliver content based upon emotion through our work with our client Jonathan Bailor, leveraging the eSurface technology along with their industry partners is key to creating the next-gen form factor.”

eSurface “Angel” is a cutting-edge high technology development project utilizing eSurface’s IP in the creation of a new breed of wearable technology. Designfunhouse will be integrating eSurface’s IP in the development of next-gen wearable technology. The eSurface “Angel” project will also integrate existing eSurface licensee Murrietta Circuits in the creation of the next-gen printed circuit board design and Freedom CAD Services, Inc. in the functional board design phase of the project.

Leading hi-tech analyst Juniper Research estimates the global retail revenue from smart wearable device hardware will triple by 2016, before reaching $53.2 billion by 2019, compared to the $4.5 billion expected this year. The wearable tech marketplace includes the potential for a variety of applications including healthcare and medical, fitness and wellness, industrial & military, and infotainment.

“eSurface, through the application of its IP, can accelerate the progress of realizing wearables that are smaller and less invasive or clunky, much of what unfortunately we are seeing today. Project ‘Angel’ will be a move toward disruptive technology vs. progressive technology,” explained Jeff Higashi, Partner, Designfunhouse. “We have been engaged in the development of wearable technology that can deliver content based upon emotion through our work with our client Jonathan Bailor, leveraging the eSurface technology along with their industry partners is key to creating the next-gen form factor.”

“I have been involved in the interconnection between technology and wellness for more than a decade and currently we have concept without execution – we know where we want to go but are limited by the technology of yesterday,” stated Jonathan Bailor, New York Times bestselling author and CEO of “We need the ability to breakthrough to a form factor that allows everything we have imagined to take shape and become functional. The ability to integrate emotional data in real time is a game changer and the applications are limitless, from research, to healthcare, to military applications and yes, to gaming.”

“The PCB is usually at the core of any high technology device so it is very influential in terms of size, placement and shape – we are looking to side step traditional manufacturing methods of the PCB to break rules & paradigms to optimize ‘wearability’ and create a completely unique delivery vehicle,” explained David Benson, eSurface Chairman & CEO. “Through the progressive talents of Designfunhouse, Murrietta Circuits and Freedom CAD, we are creating the opportunity to ‘jump the line’ in a market segment that is ready to explode.”
