Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County Launches Discounted Ticket Program for College Students

Arsht Center to Provide College Students with Greater Access to the performing arts by offering $20 tickets to a wide variety of Arsht Center offerings

MIAMI--()--The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County announced today the launch of Arsht UTIX, a program to provide full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate level college students with $20 tickets to select performances at the Arsht Center throughout each season.

“By enabling undergraduate and graduate students – Miami’s rising leaders – to experience the great performances offered on our stages, we hope to inspire them to become the next generation of stewards of the performing arts.”

This deeply discounted ticket rate will be available for a selection of the shows performed on the Arsht Center’s six, state-of-the-art stages and can include Broadway blockbusters and regional theater, concerts by Grammy Award winners, internationally-acclaimed dance companies, major orchestras, groundbreaking experimental work, comedy shows and more.

“Access to the performing arts is central to the Arsht Center’s mission. We have fulfilled this mission through outreach to public school children with programs such as Rock Odyssey, Jazz Roots: Sound Check and AileyCamp Miami. As we embark on our ninth season, we are pleased to expand our investment to the collegiate level,” said President and CEO John Richard. “By enabling undergraduate and graduate students – Miami’s rising leaders – to experience the great performances offered on our stages, we hope to inspire them to become the next generation of stewards of the performing arts.”

The program will launch in early November. Current full-time students can register, free of charge, for Arsht UTIX online at arshtcenter.org/ArshtUTIX. Registered students will be notified by email when new performances become available. Performances eligible for the discounted tickets will also be listed on the Arsht UTIX page. Tickets will be offered in limited quantities, sometimes with a few days’ notice, and should be printed at home prior to arrival at the Arsht Center. A valid student ID for each ticket must be presented at the Center, along with the printed ticket, to gain admittance.

In addition to the Arsht UTIX program, the Center offers free tickets for select classical music performances to local youth through its “Arsht Student Access Program” and discounted tickets to a wide variety of performances in partnership with CultureShockMiami.com. The Center’s free Family Fest and Free Gospel Sundays series also offers complimentary tickets to children and families throughout the year. Visit www.arshtcenter.org for more details.
