CHICAGO--()--The Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce presents their second Dinner Crawl Tuesday, September 23rd 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Hyde Park restaurateurs prepare for crowds of foodies walking an historic neighborhood in search of culinary delights. $30 gets you a tasting at 8 original restaurants located along three contiguous blocks of west 53rd Street.

“I liked the range of foods and the fact that there were some appetizers, some mains, and dessert”

Hyde Park restaurants are often supported by students attending the nearby University of Chicago. This international and diverse demographic has created a restaurant culture full of original foods from local owner-managed restaurants. Café 53, Cedar’s, The Sit Down Café, Zberry, Yusho, Shinju Sushi, Kimbark Beverage Shoppe and Hyde Park Produce are some of the establishments that have already committed to this Dinner Crawl. This is also a great opportunity to try some of Hyde Park’s more eclectic restaurants. Hyde Park Resident Jerome Green summarized his last Dinner Crawl experience, “Overall, I enjoyed being a part of the event and sampling food from restaurants on 53rd street to which I do not typically go.” “I liked the range of foods and the fact that there were some appetizers, some mains, and dessert,” said Hyde Parker David Chearo. Bring your appetite. PH.D candidate Natasha Wadlington said she “got my money's worth of food” and advises other postdocs at UChicago to “experience it and get out of lab for once.” This popular event drawls a large crowd so wear comfortable shoes. While there are no lines for food, finding a seat can be a challenge. Jacqueline Maffett commented, “At some of the restaurants, there wasn't enough room to sit down while eating. We had to eat standing up or crowd around a table to be able to sit down.”

Advance tickets can be purchased at www.hydeparkchamberchicago.org for $30 or at the Dinner Crawl for $35.
