IDF14 San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO & FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif.--()--Kingston Technology Company, Inc., the independent world leader in memory products, today announced it will showcase Intel-validated DDR4 server memory at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF14) 2014. IDF14 will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif. from September 9th – 11th. Kingston® will show off its latest memory solutions for server and high-end desktop in Booth 383.

“As companies migrate datacenters to next-generation server platforms, we are ready to support our enterprise customers with cutting edge Kingston DDR4 server memory”

To coincide with the launch of the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2600 v3 product family, Kingston will release DDR4 Registered modules (RDIMM) at 2133MT/s CL15 1.2V, meeting JEDEC specifications for DDR4 and validated for use with the Haswell-EP platform here. DDR4 unbuffered modules (UDIMMs) were also validated here on the Intel X99 platform, announced last week at PAX Prime.

DDR4 provides higher performance over DDR3 with a starting frequency of 2133MT/s and planned improvements to take it to 3200MT/s. DDR4 modules consume less power at standard voltage (1.2V) and provide many improvements to data reliability.

Kingston will have the following demos at IDF14:

  • 16GB DDR4-2133 registered DIMMs totaling 256GBs in an Intel® Xeon® E5-2600 v3 server featuring Kingston E100 enterprise SSDs.
  • HyperX®, the high-performance product division of Kingston Technology will demo Predator DDR4 3000MT/s memory and HyperX SSDs in an X99 system using the ASUS X99-DELUXE motherboard featuring an Intel Core i7-5960X processor.

"As companies migrate datacenters to next-generation server platforms, we are ready to support our enterprise customers with cutting edge Kingston DDR4 server memory," said Mike Mohney, senior technology manager, Kingston. "We are proud to show off both high-end server and enthusiast memory at IDF14."

"Intel has worked together with Kingston over many technology generations to provide our mutual customers with leading memory solutions for both the server and desktop markets," said Geof Findley, director of PMO Memory Enabling and Apps Engineering at Intel. "New Intel Xeon E5 v3 processors-based server platforms and Core i7 Extreme Edition-based desktop platforms, both with support for next-generation DDR4 memory, will provide customers with increased performance for memory-intensive application."
