BOSTON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--As the self-employed workforce continues to grow, a recent survey conducted by OnForce provides insight into the benefits and perks that are missed the most and those missed the least among IT professionals who have left traditional full-time employment.

Among the top three most missed benefits and perks, 37 percent of respondents cited health insurance, 30 percent listed brainstorming with colleagues and 20 percent answered matching 401K plans.
Unsurprisingly, commuting was ranked by 38 percent of respondents as the least missed aspect of being a traditional full-time employee. This was followed by 19 percent ranking formal performance reviews and 17 percent ranking the holiday party among the top two and three least missed aspects, respectively.
The October survey was administered to 1,337 IT service professionals throughout the United States ranging in age from 21-60+ with 82 percent of respondents falling between the ages of 30-59.

Following are additional data points of interest from the survey.
Of the 37 percent of respondents that ranked health insurance as the most missed benefit:
- 12 percent are aged 40-49,
- 10 percent are aged 50-59,
- 9 percent are aged 30-39,
- 3 percent are aged 21-29, and
- 3 percent are aged 60 and over.
While health insurance and 401K plans are still a top priority among the workforce, the survey also revealed insight into the social and professional development aspects of work. More specifically, the demographic group that ranked brainstorming as the most missed attribute were those respondents aged 40-49 with nine percent ranking it number one. However, this same demographic also rated the holiday party and performance reviews as the least missed aspect. In fact, the holiday party and performance reviews tied for least missed with six percent of respondents in this age group ranking it last.
And when it comes to free snacks and lunch, the demographic that misses this perk the most are those aged 30-39 with two percent of respondents in this group ranking it number one.
