REDWOOD CITY, Calif. & SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--LiveOps, Inc., the global leader in cloud contact center and customer service solutions, today announced that Marty Beard, President and CEO of LiveOps, and Keith McFarlane, CTO, Cloud Platform and Telephony, at LiveOps, will be presenting this week at the first international WebRTC Summit (Web real-time communication). This event is co-located with the 13th International Cloud Expo and 4th International Big Data Expo taking place November 4-7, 2013 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.
“The True Meaning of the Voice-Enabled Web”
“As one of the most disruptive new communications technologies we’ve seen in a while, it comes as no surprise that WebRTC is already transforming the contact center and communications, in general,” said Beard. “By eliminating the need for expensive hardware and continued reliance on traditional telephony networks, WebRTC enables voice to be handled entirely via browser and treated as another data channel. As cloud contact center specialists, we see the momentum of WebRTC contributing to the proliferation of the pure cloud approach to customer service and providing organizations with added benefits. Keith and I look forward to delving into WebRTC in the contact center during our sessions.”
WebRTC is an open source project supported by Google, Mozilla and Opera that aims to enable browser-to-browser applications for voice calling, video chat and P2P file sharing without plugins. A survey by TokBox found that the WebRTC adoption rate among small organizations is growing quickly, and more than 25 percent of developers say it’s important for their work. Recognizing the potential of WebRTC, LiveOps recently teamed up with Twilio, a market leader in cloud communications, for one of the largest deployments of WebRTC since the launch of the technology. The deployment uses Twilio’s integration of WebRTC so that all phone calls into the call center come through the web browser.
Beard will be participating in a Power Panel entitled, “The Future of WebRTC” on Wednesday, November 6, from 7:10 – 7:40 p.m. PST. Beard’s session will focus on WebRTC’s role in telecommunications, as well as peer-to-peer use and the monetization of the technology. McFarlane will be presenting on “The True Meaning of the Voice-Enabled Web” as a part of the OpenStack Fundamentals / WebRTC track on Thursday, November 7 from 4:30 – 5:15 p.m. PST. McFarlane’s session will discuss the future of WebRTC and its disruptive tendencies, specifically regarding monetization and customer service.
As a Tabletop Exhibitor at the event, LiveOps will also be exhibiting LiveOps Engage™, the industry’s first integrated, multichannel desktop, and demonstrating Engage integrated with Twilio Client and its built-in WebRTC, at Tabletop #108 in the exhibit hall.
