BURBANK, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Diagnostic Laboratories & Radiology (“DL”), a leading bedside laboratory and testing service provider, today announced that Dolly Greene, RN, CIC, has been awarded the prestigious Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) Infection Preventionist Award.

The award, given to distinguish extraordinary accomplishments and contributions to the science of infection control, recognizes Mrs. Greene’s work in working with skilled nursing facilities and their staff to foster disease prevention techniques.
“Infection control has long been recognized as an important mission at the acute care hospital level and there are opportunities to improve these practices at many skilled nursing facilities,” said Kelly McCullum, President of DL. “Thanks to Dolly’s hard work, many post-acute and long-term care facilities have taken significant strides in reducing or controlling the spread of disease within their vulnerable patient populations.”

Mrs. Greene’s work is in cooperation with the California Association of Health Facilities, the California Dept. of Public Health and the Quality Care Health Foundation. According to 97% of those surveyed, the rate of infection at their facility was reduced as a result of this public-private partnership program.
