SARASOTA, Fla.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Brides Against Breast Cancer™ (BABC) today announced a new partnership with TDA Global Sports that will kick off its new National Events Division. "We plan to organize more than 100 additional fundraising events around the country each year," said Jenny Alday Townsend, VP of business development for BABC, a wholly-owned affiliate of the Center for Building Hope, headquartered in Sarasota.
“We are also based in Sarasota, which makes it very easy to communicate as we roll out a national race series.”
Noting that BABC has added 23 new jobs in the past two years and expects to add another six positions in the next 18 months, Townsend said, "Our organization is expanding and we expect more partnership announcements in the near future."
Working closely with TDA Global Sports, BABC will launch a series of "Run and Renewal" 5K races next year, beginning with a Valentine's Day race on February 15 in Sarasota. Participating couples can renew their vows after the race and participate in a post-run reception with friends and family members. Bachelors and bachelorettes are also welcome.
TDA will handle the race logistics, and BABC will manage the marketing, volunteers, sponsorships and "renewal parties."
"We believe in Brides Against Breast Cancer and what the charity represents," said Tony Driscoll, CEO, TDA Global Sports. "We are also based in Sarasota, which makes it very easy to communicate as we roll out a national race series." He added that TDA Global represents, markets and owns a wide variety of sporting events, including the Sarasota Open and the Longboat Key Triathlon Race Series.
BABC is known for its “Original Nationwide Tour of Gowns” bridal shows, featuring all brands of new designer and gently worn wedding gowns. Proceeds from the sale of the gowns and bridal accessories allow the Center for Building Hope to offer more free information, programs and services to cancer patients, caregivers and family members, while connecting them with others who are undergoing a similar experience.
"Our goal in the coming year is to make the wide array of free programs and services available to anyone, anywhere through a nationwide online network of more than 100 affiliates called the Network for Building Hope," said Townsend.
"Opening a National Events Division and organizing this racing series, along with other exciting events, will allow us to expand our mission of hope."
