GAINESVILLE, Fla.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--St. Francis Catholic High School, Tyler’s Hope for a Dystonia Cure, and March of Dimes North Central Florida recently announced they are partnering with Communities for Cause, Inc. (CFC), an innovative mobile application that helps Gainesville schools and other nonprofit groups in the area with their fundraising by connecting them with local merchants willing to donate a percentage of any purchase back to those groups signed up to be a part of this exciting new application.
Using a smart phone, shoppers select their preferred nonprofit, search for merchants by category or location, and then make their purchase. CFC records the transaction and then gives that percentage back to the shopper’s designated school, group, or organization. Participating merchants create consumer loyalty by donating to the preferred nonprofit every time a purchase is made.
CFC initially launched in Orange County, Calif., where it has a growing network of more than 180 schools/nonprofits and 600 local businesses that have agreed to offer a percentage donation ranging from 10% to 20% on every sale they make to a CFC consumer.
The initial group of restaurants and merchants promoting the partnership consists of Beef O’ Brady’s on Archer Road, Texas Roadhouse, Gator’s Dockside, Napolatano’s, and Wahoo Seafood Grill, and is expanding weekly.
To kick off each restaurant’s participation with Communities for Cause, each restaurant is inviting all participating schools and nonprofits to take advantage of an even greater donation amount on the following nights:
- Wahoo Seafood Grill: Tuesday, November 5th, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
- Texas Roadhouse (Archer Road): Thursday, November 7th, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
- Napolatano’s: Monday, November 11th, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
- Gator’s Dockside: Wednesday, November 20th, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
- Beef O’ Brady’s (Archer Road): Thursday, November 21st, from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Families interested in participating can simply download the CFC app to their smartphones, select their school or nonprofit as the beneficiary, and show the app when they dine or shop at a participating merchant.

About Communities for Cause, Inc.
Communities for Cause connects local businesses with schools (and other charitable organizations) and their parent/member body to raise funds for their cause. Schools/organizations share a greater connection with local merchants who value the marketing exposure and donate a greater share of sales towards the cause (the average is between 10-20% of each sale, varying across categories). They empower customers to support their causes using mobile technology that makes it easy for them to donate in the normal course of their daily lives – no planning ahead and no gift cards required. Each cause receives a donation less a small transaction fee paid to Communities for Cause for processing the transaction – it’s that simple. For more information, visit www.communitiesforcause.com.
