BOSTON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Dane Street today announced that it has been awarded three full accreditations, Independent Review Organization Re-Accreditation, Health Utilization Management Accreditation and Workers’ Compensation Utilization Management Accreditation, from URAC, a Washington, D.C.-based healthcare accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry.
“I would like to congratulate Dane Street’s Medical, Clinical and Regulatory teams for their efforts and for their continuous collaboration with our clients in adhering to these standards in all facets of our work.”
"Dane Street is honored to receive these three Accreditations from URAC. This recognition underscores the quality of our work product by demonstrating full compliance with industry-recognized, national standards for Utilization Management (UM) services,” said Will Fulton, CEO of Dane Street. “I would like to congratulate Dane Street’s Medical, Clinical and Regulatory teams for their efforts and for their continuous collaboration with our clients in adhering to these standards in all facets of our work.”
URAC standards assure that organizations are free from conflicts of interest, establish qualifications for physician reviewers, address medical necessity and experimental treatment issues. Reasonable time periods are provided for standards and expedited reviews and appeals processes. The National Association of Independent Review Organizations has issued a position statement urging state and federal recognition of the URAC standard to promote consistency and fairness for both patients and employers.

"By applying for and receiving IRO, HUM and WCUM Accreditations, Dane Street has demonstrated a commitment to quality health care," said URAC Chief Operating Officer William Vandervennet. "Quality health care is crucial to our nation’s welfare and it is important to have organizations that are willing to measure themselves against national standards.”
URAC, an independent, nonprofit organization, is a leader in promoting health care quality through accreditation and certification programs. URAC’s standards keep pace with the rapid changes in the health care system, and provide a mark of distinction for health care organizations to demonstrate their commitment to quality and accountability.
