NEW YORK--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Glyn Peter Machin’s bespoke furniture designs have long been coveted by the owners of private custom built superyachts as well as for estates and luxury residences across Europe.
“We design and produce furniture for exterior and interior environments but always to superyacht standards regardless of the final placement of the furniture – the very best way is the only way”
Every single piece created from Glyn’s hand is made specially to order using only the finest materials and combining traditional furniture making techniques with modern technology.
“We design and produce furniture for exterior and interior environments but always to superyacht standards regardless of the final placement of the furniture – the very best way is the only way,” states Glyn.
Glyn Peter Machin’s flagship New York showroom in The Fine Arts Building, 232 East 59th Street (between 2nd and 3rd Ave) is now officially open.
To celebrate his arrival, the Royal Danish Consulate in New York hosted a cocktail reception at Donald Trumps penthouse apartment on Park Avenue on October 17. At the event, which included acclaimed American interior designers Juan Montoya, Geoffrey Bradfield, David Kleinberg and one of Europe´s most prolific architects Laura Sessa, Glyn Peter Machin revealed a specially designed series of 18 one-of-a-kind eclectic pieces to showcase the amazing creativity and exceptional high quality that Glyn and his Danish studio are renowned for in Europe.
Exclusively presented in Monte Carlo, Monaco and New York, these new pieces redefine the meaning of luxury for spaces between and beyond walls.
“My inspiration comes from the world and environment around us. I travel, I look, I learn, I read and I take in everything around me from different countries and interesting cultures. My subconscious is constantly soaking up colors, shapes and textures from nature, landscapes, architecture, museums, shops, fashion, cars, objects - basically whatever I come into contact with on a daily basis.”
Glyn also draws inspiration from the icons of the era of Danish Modern design, including masters such as designer Hans J. Wegner. “Like myself, he was a woodworker first and foremost, whose passion for design led him to create pieces way ahead of their time that remain iconic to this day. This combination of craftsmanship and design is crucial to my work: No matter how beautiful a design is; if it can't be made, it has no value. If one has the ability to design a beautiful piece that can be equally beautifully made then there is a chance it will make someone happy.”
