FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--AOD Software, delivering industry-leading integrated software solutions to long-term care providers, has been selected by Pacific Retirement Services Inc. (PRS) to implement its electronic health record (EHR) across all the organization’s facilities. PRS provides highly regarded senior services in Oregon, California, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.
“We were looking for a company that would serve as a true partner and could offer us a resident-centric solution”
AOD was among five vendors to be evaluated during PRS’s year-long search for an EHR partner, according to Steve Eichen, Chief Information Officer at PRS. “We were looking for a company that would serve as a true partner and could offer us a resident-centric solution,” he says, noting that PRS is committed to becoming a paperless organization. “We were highly impressed with AOD. Their answers to our questions demonstrated a deep understanding of long term care and the clinical setting, and the software itself is easy to use and designed to provide us enterprise-wide functionality as well as integration with external entities.”
PRS will begin implementation of AOD’s EHR this month. The solution offers a single point of access to integrated clinical, financial, operational and point of sale software, and will help standardize workflow and processes across the organization’s facilities. The EHR offers comprehensive charting and documentation, and the ability to support home care, assisted living, and incident tracking within the software. The EHR can deliver a resident-centric “power chart” so caregivers can anticipate tasks throughout the day—making sure a patient has taken important medications, for instance, before leaving the facility for an outing with family. Staff can likewise sort the day’s schedule by task type, compiling a list of all residents needing blood drawn, for example, so the tests can be completed efficiently.
Eichen notes that, with this integrated solution—the organization has used AOD’s financial and operational software for over ten years—PRS will be able to collect data and perform analytics across the enterprise to continue improving service to all residents. He added that excellent reliability of the software as well as the responsiveness of the AOD team further supports this decision.
“We are committed to delivering only superior service to our customers—values that are shared by PRS,” says Aric Agmon, President and CEO of AOD. “We’re excited about embarking on this new partnership and supporting PRS in delivering excellent care for their residents.”
