NEW YORK--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Scalable Informatics, Inc. Scalable’s TSA appliance set two new records in bytes read per second (STAC-M3.ß1.1T.YRHIBID.BPS and STAC-M3.ß1.1T.QTRHIBID.BPS) compared to all publicly disclosed results to date for all systems, as well as the best performance in 10 of 17 response-time benchmarks among systems using kdb+ 3.1. Of particular note are these three results:
- 40% faster than the next best result in the high-bid search (STAC-M3.ß1.1T.YRHIBID.LAT2)
- 30% faster than the next best result in the daily VWAB test (STAC-M3.ß1.1T.VWAB-D.LAT2)
- 20% faster than the next best result in volume-curves test (STAC-M3.ß1.1T.VOLCURV.LAT2)
Scalable Informatics’ TSA appliance is a high performance tightly-coupled computing and storage system, purposely built to enable end users to perform time series analytics on the numerous fast processor cores that are directly connected to massive storage data pipes. These systems are designed for ease of use and management as well as efficient data motion and processing, with as little bandwidth mismatch as possible along the data paths.
Scalable’s TSA appliance provided some of the fastest observed performance with the smallest consumption of key resources. The appliance can be configured with 1TB RAM and 24 physical processor cores within a single 4U enclosure, and multiple enclosure systems spanning multiple racks can provide a single system with up to 64TB RAM, with 1,536 processor cores, and 16 PB of physical storage. These results, however, were obtained using 16 processor cores in 2 sockets with 512GB RAM and 4 LUNs.
