PHILADELPHIA--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--On Oct. 14, 2013, Delaware Investments raised $113,614 in the firm’s annual charity golf outing, the Delaware Investments Charity Classic IX. This year’s beneficiary was YESPhilly, an organization that develops opportunities for the many youth who drop out of Philadelphia schools. With a matching donation of $100,000 from the Macquarie Group Foundation, a total donation of $213,614 will benefit YESPhilly.
These funds will go toward the YESPhilly School and GED Program, where students ages 16-21 have the opportunity to meet high school graduation standards or prepare for GED tests. Students participate in a combination of academic courses and workshops that also develop media, technology, and life skills. YESPhilly students can gain the credentials they need in an environment that engages their interests and creativity, builds self-esteem, and prepares them for college and subsequent careers.
Since its launch in 2005, the annual Charity Classic and Macquarie Group Foundation have successfully raised more than $1.4 million for Philadelphia-area nonprofit organizations.
