TAMPA, Fla.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Heat Pipe Technology (HPT) a division of MiTek® Industries, a Berkshire Hathaway company (NYSE: BRK-A, NYSE: BRK-B), today announced that it was pleased to recently host area high school students on a factory tour. Around three dozen students from the 10th and 11th grades of Middleton High School in Tampa were shown around the HPT facility. The group was part of a “Dream It! Do It!” Campaign that is designed to inspire learning in math and engineering, while helping to develop a skilled manufacturing workforce. HPT will welcome similar student groups on the future.
“It was clear that many were inspired by their parents’ love for math and science. Of course, we welcome people who are passionate about engineering, because that is at the core of what drives the global success of HPT.”
While at HPT, the students toured the manufacturing facility that creates two core HPT products: HPT’s passive dehumidification systems, which offer a remarkably simple way to lower humidity levels, while avoiding the need to overcool or reheat air for general use and process applications in buildings, and HPT’s energy recovery heat pipes, which offer economical and reliable energy recovery from building exhaust air, preheating or precooling ventilation air.
“Almost all of the students on the tour want to be either engineers or IT and software designers,” explained HPT’s Maz Awad. “It was clear that many were inspired by their parents’ love for math and science. Of course, we welcome people who are passionate about engineering, because that is at the core of what drives the global success of HPT.”
