ST. PAUL, Minn.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Alyssa M. Schlander joined Securian Financial Group as senior counsel and director, Public Affairs. She will develop and implement government affairs strategies for the St. Paul-based financial services company and report to Gary Christensen, senior vice president and general counsel.
Previously, Schlander led external affairs and communications for the Minnesota Auto Dealers Association (MADA) and served on the staff of state senator Jim Vickerman (DFL-Tracy). Schlander also has been president of the Minnesota Government Relations Council and is a current and founding member of the Politics and Public Policy Alumni Chapter for the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University.
Schlander, who currently resides in Ham Lake, MN, earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of St. Benedict, Collegeville, MN and a law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, MN.
