GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--While traveling to pick-up a loaf of bread, gallon of milk or the kids from recital practice—residents can now squeeze in a new insurance policy along the way. Demonstrating its commitment to and continued growth in Michigan, Priority Health has opened three new information centers – in Southfield, Holland and Grand Rapids – creating conveniently located resources for the uninsured and others needing to purchase insurance coverage.
“That’s why, as the health care landscape continues to change, we are making sure that we are positioned to answer questions and provide information to help consumers make informed decisions when choosing a health plan.”
The new information centers are located in Southfield in the American Center at 27777 Franklin Road, in Holland at 250 East Eighth Street, and in Grand Rapids at 3111 Leonard Street. The facilities are open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
“Priority Health is committed to improving the health and lives of those we serve,” said Joan Budden, chief marketing officer for Priority Health. “That’s why, as the health care landscape continues to change, we are making sure that we are positioned to answer questions and provide information to help consumers make informed decisions when choosing a health plan.”
Members and the public now have direct, face-to-face access to individual insurance and Medicare experts on a walk-in basis, following the government’s health insurance marketplace opening for individuals Oct. 1 and for Medicare beneficiaries beginning Oct. 15.
According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, there are more than 1.2 million uninsured people in Michigan, and the state Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, which will oversee the Health Insurance Marketplace, says an approximate 365,000 people will purchase coverage on the government’s Health Insurance Marketplace.
Priority Health offers health plans for individuals and families that buy their own insurance as well as small business employers on and off the government’s Health Insurance Marketplace. It continues to offer health plan options for Medicare beneficiaries including Medicare Advantage and Medigap plans.
