HOUSTON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Twenty Page Parkes models will bring the Jonathan Blake Spring/Summer 2014 Semplice Eleganza Collection (meaning “simple and elegant”) into public view for the first time as they saunter across a runway erected over the swimming pool.
“I predict that the show stopper in this collection is a French blue crocodile jacket. Due to the limited supply of this exotic skin, I can only produce three of these gorgeous jackets”
The special event will take place at the residence of Larry and Deana Blackburn in River Oaks suburb of Houston and is the mastermind of Jonathan Tinkle, founder and chief creative director of Jonathan Blake LLC. Tinkle, a Houston native, is a fashion designer who launched his first collection in October 2013 at the age of 21.
The new Jonathan Blake Spring/Summer Collection includes more than 60 pieces, which will appear on the runway tonight in the form of 40 distinct looks in “cool, calm pastel colors.” The color palette features whites and creams, peach, mint green and various shades of blue, with French blue being the dominant color in this collection. Styles in this collection are soft, feminine and functional.
In addition to expanding his use of the exotic skins that he debuted in some of the designs of his current Fall/Winter collection, Tinkle will continue his use of silk and add silk faille. He has also introduced butterfly-inspired prints into this collection. Prices for pieces in this collection range from $500 to $16,000 with many of the pieces priced at or below $2,000.
“I predict that the show stopper in this collection is a French blue crocodile jacket. Due to the limited supply of this exotic skin, I can only produce three of these gorgeous jackets,” Tinkle commented.
Sharron Melton, KTRK-TV/ABC 13 morning news anchor, will serve as emcee for the event.
A team led by BLINC by Bambi Lynn, the fashion show producer, constructed a temporary L-shaped runway over the pool, and the majority of the 200-plus guests will be seated poolside for the 30-minute show. Urban Retreat (for hair styling), The Vanity Lounge (for makeup), Sakowitz Furs, Valobra Jewelry and Gabriela Dror hats and fascinators will provide the finishing touches for tonight’s event. Last October, when he was only 21, Jonathan Tinkle introduced his first collection – the Bella Donna Spring/Summer 2013 Couture Collection. He introduced the Amore e Potenza Fall/Winter 2013 Collection in April. Tinkle and the Jonathan Blake line have been well received among new clients, potential buyers, fashion media and bloggers. His youthful charm, popularity and early successes led to his nomination and recent selection to the Houston Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Class of 2013.
More about Jonathan Blake
Established in 2012, Jonathan Blake LLC is a privately held company with solid financial backing. Tinkle, who is the founder and chief fashion designer, hails from a successful, entrepreneurial family with ventures involving trucking, logistics, imports/exports and cattle breeding. A Houston native, Tinkle began sketching designs for women’s dresses at the age of 14 and briefly pursued a career in modeling and acting. He completed The Tenney High School in 2009 and enrolled in The Art Institute of Houston at age 18. It was there that Tinkle brought one of his sketches to life in the form of a custom-made, black cocktail dress fitted for and modeled by his younger sister, Amanda. Shortly thereafter, Tinkle left The Art Institute and devoted all of his time and energy to planning the launch of Jonathan Blake as a full-fledged fashion design company.
Inspired by Chanel, Valentino and Versace, Jonathan Blake's designs are timelessly “wearable,” classic, and elegant for women of all ages and varying sizes. All of Jonathan Blake’s pieces are made of natural fabrics, leathers and exotic skins. Tinkle begins the creative process through pencil sketches, which transform into high quality day and evening wear with the help of talented Houston-based pattern makers and seamstresses. Sizes range from 0 to 12, and prices range from $275 for blouses up to $14,000 for evening dresses.
