“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our customers’ experience on our products”
The Toshiba Start 360º launch page can be easily accessed on any Toshiba laptop or tablet. Portico enriches the Toshiba Start 360º experience by giving Toshiba customers access to full-length, interest-niche TV programming.
“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our customers’ experience on our products,” said Terry Cronin, vice president of business development and channel marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Digital Products Division. “With Net2TV’s Portico TV service, we are offering a new way for our customers to access content they care about – and ultimately giving them more choice with multiple viewing-platform options.”
Net2TV’s Portico TV service offers a traditional TV experience. It brings the best of the traditional television viewing experience together with free, program-length shows in niche programming. Net2TV works with established media brands like Bonnier’s “Popular Science,” with emerging online video producers like Newsy and Celeb TV who offer high-quality, short-form programming, and with independent film and documentary producers like CINEQUEST. The company curates these pieces and packages them into full 30-, 60-, or 90-minute television programs for Internet-connected TVs, Roku and now Toshiba tablets and laptops.
“Viewers today expect to enjoy quality programming on a variety of devices – from a large screen in the living room to a laptop, tablet or phone,” said Tom Morgan, Net2TV co-founder and CEO. “Working with Toshiba, we’re now able to bring a more traditional television programming experience to laptops and tablets. We are making Portico TV available anywhere viewers want a true TV experience.”
