“The biggest source of frustration for consumers is that many of the codes they attempt to use don't work. We’re able to address this pain point by highlighting when a coupon was last used by verified buyers”
The company had previously beta-tested a coupon site under the name of Robot Oatmeal in the US, and Tada in the UK.
“The positive response we’ve seen from both consumers and retailers has fortified our conviction for, and belief in this market. We are excited to consolidate our effort under a single brand, one that is globally understood as conveying a sense of fanfare; one that is consistent with the emotion a shopper might experience when they use a coupon code that works,” says Bill Glass, CEO of Shopzilla.
Tada features over 50,000 coupons from more than 6,400 stores. Shopzilla plans to expand its coupon offering into new geographical markets. “The biggest source of frustration for consumers is that many of the codes they attempt to use don't work. We’re able to address this pain point by highlighting when a coupon was last used by verified buyers,” explains David Weinrot, CMO of Shopzilla.
Participation remains free through the end of the year. The company expects to deliver in excess of $20MM in Gross Merchandise Value from its coupon properties this year.
