BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Sterne Agee, one of the oldest and largest privately held financial services firms in the country, today announced Patricia Ann Jamison as the Chief Operating Officer of Sterne Agee Clearing, Inc., a subsidiary of Sterne Agee Group, Inc. Jamison’s new role will focus heavily on increasing sales and marketing efforts in order to expand Sterne Agee Clearing’s presence nationwide.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the Sterne Agee family and to have a hand in making our clearing division the best in the industry.”
Speaking about the new position, Damon Joyner, President and CEO of Sterne Agee Clearing, Inc. said, “We are delighted to have a person with such far-reaching background in clearing services as a leader of this division. I’m confident that Patricia’s expertise will take our clearing platform to new heights.”
Jamison has extensive experience in leadership positions with clearing houses and, synonymously, with relationship management and operations. Before joining Sterne Agee, Jamison served as Director of Relationship Management for First Clearing in St. Louis, Missouri, directing relationship management and service excellence for correspondent broker-dealers. Prior to this role, she spent eight years with First Clearing Correspondent Services, serving as a segment director and also as COO and Acting President. For 22 years, Jamison was with Prudential Securities in New York, NY and its clearing arm, Wexford Clearing Services Corporation, holding a number of positions. She was eventually named Executive Vice President and COO of Wexford, and served as President until Wexford was acquired by First Clearing during the Prudential Securities and Wachovia Securities merger.
“While clearing services are all about managing risk and providing security for each transaction, there is an opportunity to constantly improve our services and expand our market presence,” said Jamison. “I am thrilled to be a part of the Sterne Agee family and to have a hand in making our clearing division the best in the industry.”
Jamison received her BA from Wheaton College and also attended the Securities Industry Institute in the Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania. She has completed the Series 7, 63, 24 and 27.
