TORONTO & STERLING, Va.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Fixmo, a leading provider of defense-grade mobile security and mobility management solutions, today announced support for securing and managing Samsung KNOX devices with its Fixmo Enterprise Mobility Platform (Fixmo EMP). In addition to managing policy controls and the Samsung KNOX secure container, Fixmo EMP will provide exclusive Device Integrity Monitoring and Application Quarantine capabilities that meet the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements for deploying Samsung KNOX devices within the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
“We are extremely proud to offer the most comprehensive and high assurance solution for securing Samsung KNOX devices within Government and regulated markets”
Originally announced at Mobile World Congress, Fixmo’s partnership with Samsung saw the global leader in smartphones embed the Fixmo Sentinel integrity verification technology as part of the Samsung KNOX platform. Fixmo Sentinel has been developed as part of a Co-operative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) between Fixmo and the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA). With full support for managing Samsung KNOX devices in addition to its patented integrity verification solution, Fixmo remains the only commercial vendor that enables DoD agencies to meet the full range of STIG requirements for all approved mobile devices from Samsung, Apple and BlackBerry.
With its latest release, Fixmo EMP provides the following capabilities for Samsung KNOX devices:
- Device provisioning, policy configuration and remote IT commands
- Provisioning and management of the Samsung KNOX secure container environment
- Support for exclusive Samsung SAFE/KNOX IT policy controls and MDM configurations
- Provisioning and management of Security Certificates and VPN profiles
- Device integrity monitoring and tamper detection via the embedded Fixmo Sentinel solution
- Application Quarantine for ensuring only approved applications are run by end users
“We are extremely proud to offer the most comprehensive and high assurance solution for securing Samsung KNOX devices within Government and regulated markets,” said Rick Segal, CEO of Fixmo. “By ensuring Federal agencies and regulated Enterprises can meet stringent security and compliance requirements, we’re helping them expand their mobility deployments in a rapid manner while ensuring they can mitigate the risks of data leakage, cyber attacks, and damaging compliance breaches.”
Fixmo EMP and the Fixmo Sentinel Integrity Services solution enable U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agencies to meet the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) specifications for secure and compliant use of Samsung KNOX devices as well as other approved smartphones and tablets. The exclusive offering for Samsung KNOX is the latest in a string of major wins for the company. Earlier this year, Fixmo announced strategic partnerships with General Dynamics, BlackBerry, and Motorola Solutions; became the first company to meet the DoD STIG requirements for Apple iOS, Samsung and BlackBerry; announced a significant relationship with the U.S. Air Force; and was named as one of Federal Computer Week’s ‘Hot Companies to Watch’ in the Federal IT space.
