ST. PAUL, Minn.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--1998!
“100 Best Places to Work in IT”
That’s the year the Twins traded Chuck Knoblauch to the Yankees. Tom Clancy signed an agreement to buy the Vikings. Securian made the first of its 15 appearances on InformationWeek 500 list of Top Technology Innovators.
Many factors are considered in naming the IW500. A highlight of Securian’s winning entry in 2013 was an express policy issue system for individual life insurance that reduces underwriting from 40 days or more to one day or less.
"IT and business associates enjoy partnering on creative technology that supports our business strategies and provides a competitive edge," said Jean Delaney Nelson, senior vice president and CIO.
Though much has changed for the Twins and Vikings since 1998, Securian’s reputation as financial services technology innovator remains constant. In addition to the InformationWeek 500 list, 2013 also marks Securian’s 18th appearance on Computerworld’s list of "100 Best Places to Work in IT". The company also has won several industry technology awards for technological excellence and innovation. Its speed-to-market product development process was recognized by the Best's Review Innovation Showcase forum.
Since 1880, Securian Financial Group and its affiliates have provided financial security for individuals and businesses in the form of insurance, investments and retirement plans. Now one of the nation’s largest financial services providers, it is the holding company parent of a group of companies that include Minnesota Life Insurance Company and Securian Life Insurance Company, a New York admitted insurer.
