LISLE, Ill.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Molex Incorporated, will showcase Polymicro specialty capillary tubing technologies at CE Pharm 2013 (Polymicro - Table T3), October 6-10, Arlington, VA. The 15th Symposium on the Practical Applications for the Analysis of Proteins, Nucleotides and Small Molecules provides a forum for discussion on recent developments and practical applications of capillary electrophoresis (CE) in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
“Each customer’s unique specifications are thoroughly reviewed to determine the most effective CE capillary design. Polymicro capillary tubing solutions range from simple cut pieces of standard capillary to complex, multi-capillary assemblies”
“At Molex we are driving cutting edge advances in Polymicro capillary tubing techniques,” states Joe Macomber, product manager, Polymicro. “A staple in the laboratory, our CE products include bulk capillary tubing designed specifically for CE applications and other value-added products such as windowed capillary that simplify column preparation in pharmaceutical applications.”
Widely used for on-column analytical techniques such as DNA sequencing, forensics, proteomics and pharmaceutical analysis, Polymicro windowed capillaries have a section of coating removed to form a detection window. Using a non-abrasive laser technique, Molex machines strong, clean, durable windows in standard polyimide- coated synthetic- fused silica capillary tubing, or custom -drawn capillary tubing tailored to the customer’s specific ID and OD requirements. Polymicro windowed capillaries features low background fluorescence and smooth optical surfaces. A range of custom designed laser stations enable Molex to efficiently window small quantities through high volume production.
Tightly controlled manufacturing processes also include precision cleaving, custom internal coating, and unique cross sectional geometry capillary, including Molex’s Polymicro WWP series of square ID capillary. Polymicro multi-capillary assemblies and windowing capabilities, which helped sequence the human genome, continue to be employed in emerging CE based techniques.
“Each customer’s unique specifications are thoroughly reviewed to determine the most effective CE capillary design. Polymicro capillary tubing solutions range from simple cut pieces of standard capillary to complex, multi-capillary assemblies,” adds Macomber.
