LOS ANGELES--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--With Los Angeles topping the list of U.S. cities with the worst traffic congestion in the country, the cost to L.A. commuters is more than $10 billion annually in wasted time and fuel. Despite Measure R’s projected $40 billion commitment to traffic relief and transportation upgrades over the next 30 years, funding and planning challenges lie ahead.

HNTB Corporation’s nationally recognized transportation funding expert Linda Bohlinger will be a featured speaker on October 4 at the 25th Annual Business Forecast Conference hosted by the Valley Industry & Commerce Association, where she will take part in a panel discussion debating these critical issues.
Bohlinger will join industry leaders Andre Boutros, Executive Director of the California Transportation Commission; Art Leahy, CEO, Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority; and Martin Wachs, Director Emeritus, UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies, on the panel. They will address what the region’s transportation landscape will look like in 2015 or 2040, and what funding mechanisms should be considered, in addition to tax measures.

She leads HNTB’s national management consulting practice, which provides a variety of services supporting innovative financial options and funding strategies for major public transportation infrastructure projects.
