BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named The Toro Company as a finalist in the agricultural technology category for the 2013 Tekne Awards, which will be held on November 6 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Tekne Awards honor Minnesota companies and individuals who have shown superior technology innovation and leadership.
Recognized for innovation in a category focused on improving productivity, efficiency and environmental sustainability, Toro was selected as a finalist for its PrecisionSense™ site assessment system. Used by golf courses and sports fields, this state-of-the-art solution utilizes innovative mobile soil sensing and data collection technology to measure the variability of key site attributes – including soil moisture, salinity, compaction and plant performance – to help improve water and resource efficiency, and produce healthy, more uniform turf.
Presented by the MHTA, the Tekne Awards annually recognize Minnesota’s best technology users and developers in innovation, development, education, commercialization and management.
