NEW YORK--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian), one of the nation’s largest mutual life insurers and a leading provider of employee benefits, today announced it is offering a comprehensive suite of dental benefits that meets requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on 48 small business health (SHOP) exchanges. As open enrollment in the new ACA-mandated health insurance marketplace begins, Guardian is committed to providing its customers with high-quality dental benefits through traditional and health insurance exchange channels.
“Our goal is to provide the broadest possible access to Guardian’s high-quality dental benefits to our customers. Employers working with Guardian can be assured that they will have a wide variety of ACA-compliant dental benefits to choose from – both on and off the exchanges”
Starting October 1, 2013, consumers will be able to purchase benefits on public exchanges, as well as through private exchanges and traditional channels. Guardian’s dental product will be available on 48 small business exchanges. Guardian products are also available on private exchanges such as Liazon’s Bright Choices® Exchange to ensure it is providing the widest access available to its customers.
The exchanges operate similar to an online store where employees can use funds allocated by their employer to purchase the benefits portfolio that best suits their needs. Employers choose how much to spend each year on benefits and then each employee determines how to spend their share of the money. The small business exchange is currently available for companies with 50 or less employees.
In most states, employers and employees can choose Guardian plans that cover the required pediatric dental benefit or cover the whole family. All plan options are backed by one of the nation’s strongest networks to help members save money on important care.
“Our goal is to provide the broadest possible access to Guardian’s high-quality dental benefits to our customers. Employers working with Guardian can be assured that they will have a wide variety of ACA-compliant dental benefits to choose from – both on and off the exchanges,” said Chris Swanker, Vice President Worksite & Specialty Markets at Guardian. “By participating on the small business exchanges, we are solidifying Guardian’s continued role as a national leader in benefits coverage in the new environment.”
