WASHINGTON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA), the leading association for lower middle market private equity funds and investors, today announced its annual National Summit for Middle Market Funds conference, taking place on October 13-15, 2013, at The Breakers in Palm Beach.
“The SBIA works tirelessly on a day-to-day basis to advocate on behalf of its members and find new ways to facilitate capital investment in the businesses that serve as the lifeblood of the nation’s economy, the lower middle market”
The National Summit is the premier forum and only event of its kind focused entirely on the lower middle market. The SBIA-sponsored event brings more than 400 chief decision makers from leading private equity funds, intermediaries, investment banks and limited partners together to address the complete range of key issues facing this vibrant segment of the American economy, including deal origination, emerging trends, fundraising, general partner selection, due diligence, future investment opportunities and the impact of tax reform.
Attendance at the event is limited almost entirely to general partners and limited partners, with more than 80% of last year’s attendees comprised of senior fund managers and limited partners. As the only event that brings together the premier sources of equity capital, debt financing and advisors in one venue to address investment in America’s small businesses over three days, the National Summit provides its participants with access to exceptional networking opportunities, in-depth panel discussions on hot topics, best practices, and insightful analyses on the most significant developments impacting the lower middle market. “The National Summit is without question the most important event of the year where our nation’s lower middle market investment community gathers to communicate about the most important issues concerning private equity investment and capital formation in the lower middle market,” said Brett Palmer, President of the SBIA. “Our event is the only one that provides the most comprehensive thought leadership for the private investment community’s chief constituents who are dedicated to meeting the growth capital, innovation and job creation needs of America’s Main Street companies.”
Attendees at the National Summit comprise the complete range of investment strategies in the lower middle market including buyout, credit, growth equity, multi-strategy and venture capital fund managers. In addition, close to 40 limited partners are planning to attend the conference and participate in CapitaLinx, an invitation-only event taking place during the National Summit, which facilitates one-on-one connections between GPs and LPs. The 2012 CapitaLinx participants included limited partners such as Hamilton Lane, Siguler Guff, RCP Advisors, and several of the nation’s leading banks and university endowments. “Very few events focus exclusively on the lower middle market and draw leading fund managers specializing in that segment of the market,” said Jonathan Wilson, Principal at Siguler Guff. “For limited partners looking to meet with promising lower middle market funds, the National Summit is an extremely efficient and effective use of time.”
“The SBIA works tirelessly on a day-to-day basis to advocate on behalf of its members and find new ways to facilitate capital investment in the businesses that serve as the lifeblood of the nation’s economy, the lower middle market,” said Molly Simmons, a Principal at Tonka Bay Equity Partners and SBIA Board of Governors Chair. “The Summit is the association’s annual marquee event where members can come together to exchange ideas, meet new sources of capital and hear the very latest information on the key issues that are impacting the small cap market landscape. We look forward to a productive and informative three days in Palm Beach.”
