TRUMBULL, Conn.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo (The Symposium) is pleased to announce a joint project with the Global Alliance for Arts & Health at this year’s event, Oct. 1 – 3, 2013, Navy Pier, Chicago, IL. The Arts & Health project will give attendees the opportunity to observe or participate in the live creation of a piece of public art that will be donated to the new outpatient clinic at La Rabida Children’s Hospital in Chicago.
“Donating the art to a Chicago hospital also gives the Symposium the opportunity to give back to the community that has hosted the conference for the past 6 years.”
“Our attendees are dedicated to creating healing environments for patients and families, so I am looking forward to seeing them participate in the project while at the Symposium,” said Jenabeth Ferguson, VP, Symposium Director. “Donating the art to a Chicago hospital also gives the Symposium the opportunity to give back to the community that has hosted the conference for the past 6 years.”
Artist David Jansheski (www.jansheskioriginals.com) is creating the custom piece of public art that will reflect the new outpatient clinic theme of the water and wildlife of Lake Michigan.
“We are thrilled that this one of a kind piece of artwork will be donated to La Rabida,” said Janet Haines, Vice President of Fund Development and External Affairs at La Rabida Children’s Hospital. “We are so proud of our new outpatient clinic and are greatly looking forward to the grand opening in early 2014. We are confident that this custom piece of art will complement the new building and provide beauty for our patients and families for years to come.”
Attendees will be invited to contribute to the art project or observe its progress during the exhibition on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at Navy Pier.
