AUSTIN, Texas--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Datical, Inc. today announced that Nathan Voxland, creator of the popular open source project Liquibase, has joined the company as project founder. “We are thrilled to have Nathan join our team as we continue to extend Liquibase for enterprise use with Datical DB.”
With more than 15 years of software development experience, Nathan Voxland founded Liquibase to enable easier management of database changes, especially in agile software development environments. Over the last seven years, the open source project has become the de facto standard for database change management.
“Nathan has a very well-deserved reputation throughout development and open source communities for creating a high quality, effective database change management solution,” said Daniel Nelson, Datical CEO and co-founder. “We are thrilled to have Nathan join our team as we continue to extend Liquibase for enterprise use with Datical DB.”
Previously, Voxland was the Software Architect at Intelligent InSites, a software provider to the healthcare industry. He began his career at Sundog where he worked as a developer and software engineer supporting a variety of clients from small local companies and nonprofits to Fortune 500 organizations.
“Over the last seven years, Liquibase has evolved from a part-time hobby originally created to solve my personal pain points, to a solution that enterprise development professionals rely on daily. I’m extremely proud of what we’ve created and am very excited for this opportunity to expand the community and deliver even greater support,” said Voxland. “This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growth company committed to the open source community. It’s also an opportunity to expand Liquibase success and play an important role in creating future solutions.”
Datical DB, uses a data model approach for automating and managing database change, configuration and complex dependencies. The difference is it works within your existing release process, using your existing tools – versioning, archiving, managing and executing database changes “with” your application code as it evolves through the application lifecycle. Datical DB eliminates manual change scripting as it executes changes and configures database servers in any environment, with any database, eliminating errors and release roadblocks. Users have complete control and visibility into what’s happening with the database, including the ability to forecast the impact of schema change in production, or any other environment, before they deploy. Datical’s flagship product, Datical DB, automates the deployment of database schema updates for large enterprises that struggle with the constant state of application change across complex environments. Based upon the Liquibase open source project, Datical DB manages the database schema lifecycle for people who develop, deploy and maintain applications. Datical is privately held with headquarters in Austin, Texas. For more information, visit www.datical.com or call 949-DATICAL.
